CHAP. 794.— An Act For the relief of Katherine Frances Lamb and Elinor Frances Lamb. July 1, 1930.[[H. R. 495](/us/bill/71/hr/495).][[Private, No. 242](/us/pvtl/71/242).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Katherine Frances Lamb and daughter. Payment to, for personal injuries. Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Katherine Frances Lamb the sum of $1,500 in full settlement for injuries received by her and by her seven-year-old daughter, Elinor Frances Lamb, when, on July 10, 1926, while they 1956were passing the building in the city of Yonkers, New York, owned by the United States Government and located on property purchased by it for post-office purposes, a plate-glass window, negligently insecure, was blown out by a windstorm and severely cut and injured *Proviso.* Attorneys’, etc., fees forbidden. both the mother and daughter: *Provided,* That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, on account of services rendered in connection with said claim.
It shall be unlawful for any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, to exact, collect, withhold, or receive any sum of the amount appropriated in this Act on account of services rendered in connection with said claim, any Penalty for violation.contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, July 1, 1930.
