CHAP. 622.— An Act To provide living quarters, including heat, fuel, and light, for civilian officers and employees of the Government stationed in foreign countries. June 26, 1930.[[H. R. 11371](/us/bill/71/hr/11371).][[Public, No. 445](/us/pl/71/445).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Civilian officers and employees of the Government. That under such regulations as the heads of the respective departments concerned may prescribe and the President approve, civilian officers and employees of the Government having permanent station in a foreign Living quarters, Including heat, etc., to be provided for, if stationed abroad.country may be furnished, without cost to them, living quarters, including heat, fuel, and light, in Government-owned or rented buildings and, where such quarters are not available, may be Allowance in lieu.granted an allowance for living quarters, including heat, fuel, and [R.
S., sec. 1765, p. 314](/us/rs/s1765/p314).[U. S. C., p. 32](/us/usc/32).*Provisos.*Limit on cost.light, notwithstanding the provisions of section 1765 of the Revised Statutes (U. S. C., title 5, sec. 70): *Provided*, That said rented quarters or allowances in lieu thereof may be furnished only within the limits of such appropriations as may be made therefor, which appropriations Citizenship restriction.are hereby authorized: *Provided further*, That the provisions of this Act shall apply only to those civilian officers and employees who are citizens of the United States.
