CHAP. 558.— An Act To amend an Act for the relief of Augusta Cornog, approved May 29, 1928. March 4, 1931.[[S. 5467.](/us/bill/71/s/5467)][[Private, No. 473.](/us/pvtl/71/473)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Augusta Cornog.Vol. 45, p. 2026, amended. That the Act for the relief of Augusta Cornog, approved May 29, 1928, be, and the same is hereby, amended as follows: After the semicolon following the word “hospital,” strike out the following words :
“and that said Augusta Cornog shall be admitted to such Army hospital as may be directed by the Surgeon General of the United States Army for necessary care and treatment,” and insert in lieu thereof the following: Removal to Veterans’ hospital, substituted. “and that said Augusta Cornog shall be removed from Fitzsimons General Hospital, an Army hospital, at Denver, Colorado, and that the Director of the Veterans’ Bureau be required to admit her to the United States veterans’ hospital at Oteen, North Carolina, Amended Act. for necessary care and treatment,“ so that the same will read as follows:Payment to, contracting disease in Public Health Service.
"“That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, and in full settlement against the Government, the sum of $2,000 to Augusta Cornog, a former employee of the United States Public Health Service, who contracted tuberculosis while employed at the Atlanta Veterans’ Bureau hospital; and Admittance to Veterans’ Bureau hospital at Oteen, N. C. that said Augusta Cornog shall be removed from Fitzsimons General Hospital, an Army hospital, at Denver, Colorado, and that the Director of the Veterans’ Bureau be required to admit her to the United States veterans’ hospital at Oteen, North Carolina, for necessary care and treatment.”" Approved, March 4, 1931.
