CHAP. 472.— An Act For the relief of Arch L. Gregg. June 12, 1930[[S. 517](/us/bill/71/s/517)][[Private, No. 84](/us/prv/71/84)] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* Arch L. Gregg.Payment to, for personal injuries. That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay to Arch L. Gregg, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $5,000, as compensation for disability resulting from an injury received in the performance of his duties while assuming to act as a special deputy United States marshal on November 20, 1917, when he was shot by a person whom he was endeavoring to arrest upon a charge of evading the Selective Draft Act. 1885 Sec. 2.
That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act inRestriction on attorneys’, etc., fees. excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys on account of services rendered or advances made in connection with said claim. Any person or persons violating the provisions of this ActViolation a misdemeanor. shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.
