CHAP. 452.— Joint Resolution Extending the provisions of sections 1,2,6, and 7 of the Act of Congress entitled “An Act to provide for the protection of forest lands, for the reforestation of denuded areas, for the extension of national forests, and for other purposes, in order to promote the continuous production of timber on lands chiefly suitable therefor.” to the Territory of Porto Rico. March 3, 1931.[[H. J. Res. 192](/us/bill/71/hjres/192).][[Pub. Res., No. 129](/us/bill/71/pubres/129).] Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,Porto Rico.Forest perpetuation provided in.
That the provisions of sections 1,2, 6, and 7 of the Act of Congress entitled “An Act to provide for the protection of forest lands, for the reforestation of denuded areas, for the extension of national forests, and for other purposes, Vol. 43, p.653.in order to promote the continuous production of timber on lands chiefly suitable therefor,” approved June 7, 1924, are herewith extended to the Territory of Porto Rico, and the Secretary of Agriculture is hereby authorized to cooperate with the appropriate officials of Porto Rico on the same terms and conditions as with the States: *Proviso*.Limitation on acreage to be acquired.*Provided*, That not to exceed fifty thousand acres of land may be acquired in Porto Rico under section 6 of the aforesaid Act of Congress approved June 7, 1924.
