CHAP. 344.— An Act To provide for an Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations. May 27, 1930.[[H. R. 7933](/us/bill/71/hr/7933).][[Public, No. 275](/us/pl/71/275).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Navy.Assistant to Chief of Naval Operations to be detailed. That an officer of the active list of the Navy may be detailed as Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations, and such officer shall receive the highestPay. pay of his rank, and in case of the death, resignation, absence, or sickness of the Chief of Naval Operations, shall, until otherwise431 directed by the President, as provided by section 179 of the Revised[R.
S., sec. 179. p. 27](/us/rs/s179/p27).[U. S. C., p. 28](/us/usc/p28).Acting chief of Naval Operations in emergency. Statutes, perform the duties of such chief until his successor is appointed or such absence or sickness shall cease. Approved, May 27, 1930.
