CHAP. 161.— An Act Providing for the confirmation of the title of certain purchasers from the State of Louisiana of lands formerly included in the Live Oak naval reserve on Navy Commissioners Island, in Saint Mary Parish, Louisiana, now abandoned. February 14, 1931.[[H. R. 6586](/us/bill/71/hr/6586).][[Public, No. 640](/us/pl/71/640).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That, subject toNavy Commissioners Island, La.Title of certain purchasers of lands in Live Oak reserve confirmed. the provisions of this Act, the title of all persons who, prior to January 1, 1880, purchased from the State of Louisiana any lands formerly included in what was known as the Live Oak naval reserve on Navy Commissioners Island, in Saint Mary Parish, in the State of Louisiana, established by Executive order of February 29, 1820, under authority of the Act of March 1, 1817, and restored to entry by authority of Act of February 16, 1923 (Forty-second Statutes,Vol. 42, p. 1258. page 1258), shall be confirmed and validated against any claim or interest or the United States: *Provided*, That satisfactory evidence*Provisos*.Evidence of purchase to be submitted. of such purchase, with description of the lands claimed by each applicant, in accordance with the system of the United States public land surveys, be submitted to the Secretary of the Interior within six months from and after the approval of this Act: *Provided Patents to issue on payments.further*, That patents shall issue to such purchasers and shall inure to the benefit of their heirs, assigns, or devisees to the same extent and as if such purchasers had secured full title from the State of Louisiana through such purchasers upon the payment of $1.25 per acre for such land, which sum shall be deposited in the Treasury of the United States: *Provided further*, That the provisions of this ActRights of valid settlers not impaired. shall not impair the rights of valid settlers upon said land.
