CHAP. 13.— Joint Resolution Making an emergency appropriation for the control, prevention of the spread, and eradication of the Mediterranean fruit fly. December 21, 1929.[[H. J. Res. 174](/us/bill/71/hjres/174).][[Pub. Res., No. 29](/us/bill/71/pubres/29).] Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the sum of $1,290,000Mediterranean fruit fly.Emergency appropriation for eradicating, etc. is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to remain available until June 30, 1930, as an emergency appropriation for necessary expenses for the control, the prevention of the spread, and eradication of the Mediterranean fruit fly, the employment of persons and means in the city of Washington and elsewhere, and for other expenses including the same objects*Ante*, p. 2. specified under the heading “Salaries and General Expenses, Plant Quarantine and Control Administration,” in the Agricultural Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 1930, investigations, printing, and the maintenance, repair, and operation of passenger-carrying vehicles outside of the District of Columbia: *Provided*, That of this*Provisos*.Reimbursement of Plant Quarantine and Control Administration, for expenses.Vol. 45, p. 1216.Local, etc., contributions required. sum $290,000 shall be available to reimburse the appropriation, “Salaries and Expenses, Plant Quarantine and Control Administration,” for expenditures made therefrom for such control and eradication: *Provided further*, That in the discretion of the Secretary of Agriculture no expenditure shall be made hereunder until a sum or sums adequate to State cooperation shall have been appropriated, subscribed, or contributed by State, county, or local authorities or individuals or organizations.
