R. 12475](/us/bill/70/hr/12475).] [[Private, No. 534](/us/pvtl/70/534).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Alfred L.
Diebolt, senior. Payment to, for death of wife and child, and injuries to self and other members of family. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Alfred L. Diebolt, senior, the sum of $10,000 in full settlement for the death of his wife and child and for personal injuries and hospital Alfred L. Diebolt, junior. Payment to, for personal injuries.expenses of Alfred L.
Diebolt, senior, and his family; and a further sum of $10,000 is hereby appropriated to be paid to the legal guardian of Alfred L. Diebolt, junior, for the loss of an eye by said Alfred L. Diebolt, junior, and for pain, suffering, and disfigurement as a result of a collision between the automobile operated by Alfred L. Diebolt, senior, and an Army truck on the Plattsburg highway *Proviso*. Restriction on attorney’s, etc., fees.near Chazy, New York, September 17, 1927: *Provided*, That no part of the amount of any item appropriated in this Act in excess of $200 thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, on account of services rendered or 2371advances made in connection with said claim.
It shall be unlawful for any agent or agents, attorney or attorneys, to exact, collect, withhold, or receive any sum which exceeds $200 of the amount of any item appropriated in this Act on account of services rendered or advances made in connection with said claim, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions ofViolation a misdemeanor. this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be lined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.
