S. Code, p. 863.of the United states be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to appoint an additional judge of the District Court of the United States for the District of South Dakota, who shall reside in said district and whose term of office, compensation, duties, and powers shall be the same as now provided by law for the judge of said district. Sec. 2. When a vacancy shall occur in the office of the existing Vacancy occurring in office of existing judge not to be filled.judge for said district such vacancy shall not be filled unless authorized by the Congress.
Sec. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval by the Effective date. President. Approved, February 26, 1929.
