That section 321 of the Act entitled “An Act to codify, revise, and amend the penal laws of the United States,” approved March 4, 1909, as amended, is amended by adding at the end thereof the following new sentence: “Nothing in this section or in the preceding section shall be held to prohibit any pugilistic encounter in the Territory of Hawaii or the Territory of Alaska, in conformity with the laws of the respective Territories, if
(1)the contestants use gloves not less than five ounces each in weight,
(2)such encounter is not held on Sunday and does not consist of more than ten rounds of a duration of more than three minutes each with an interval of one minute between each round and the succeeding round, and
(3)each contestant is over eighteen years of age and, one hour prior to such encounter, has been examined by a licensed physician, who shall certify in writing to the referee of such encounter that such contestant is physically fit to engage therein.” Approved, February 8, 1929.
