R. 3190](/us/bill/70/hr/3190).][[Public, No. 1](/us/pl/70/1).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Charles A.Lindbergh.Awarded Congressional medal of honor for nonstop airplane flight from New York to Paris. That the President of the United States be, and he is hereby, authorized to present in the name of Congress, a medal of honor to Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh, United States Army Air Corps Reserve, for displaying heroic courage and skill as a navigator, at the risk of his life, by his nonstop flight in his plane, the Spirit of Saint Louis, from New York city to Paris, France, on May 20, 1927, by which he not only achieved the greatest individual triumph of any American citizen, but demonstrated that travel across the ocean by aircraft was possible.
