CHAP. 861.— An Act For the relief of Elias Field. July 3, 1926. [[H. R. 10641](/us/bill/69/hr/10641).] [[Private, No. 290](/us/pvtl/69/290).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Elias Field. Compensation to, for legal services. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $5,000 to Elias Field, of Boston, Massachusetts, as compensation for legal services rendered the United States in the case of United States versus the Richard Mayer Company, in which case said Elias Field had not been retained by the Attorney General but in which his services were rendered in good faith at the request and under the supposed authority of a subordinate officer of the Department of Justice.
