CHAP. 859.— An Act For the relief of James E. Judge, senior. July 3, 1926. [[H. R. 7942](/us/bill/69/hr/7942).] [[Private, No. 288](/us/pvtl/69/288).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled.*, James E. Judge, sr. Compensation for loss of automobile. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to James E.
Judge, senior, of Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, the sum of $295, to compensate said James E. Judge, senior, for the loss of one Ford sedan automobile, motor numbered 5017671, which was purchased from the United States Government through the office of D. H. Cronin, United States marshal for the district of Nebraska, at a public auction, the basis of such action being that said automobile was used in the transportation of certain narcotics contrary to section 3450 of the United States Statutes, thereafter and on or about 9th day of July, 1923, certain State officers of the State of Nebraska ascertained that said automobile was the stolen property of Doctor Ludwick, of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Upon discovery1749 of this fact, said State authorities immediately claimed and took possession of said Ford sedan and returned it to Doctor Ludwick, removing said Ford sedan from the possession of James E. Judge, senior, without remuneration. Approved, July 3, 1926.
