CHAP. 6.— An Act To fix the salaries of certain judges of the United States.December 13, 1926.[[S. 2858](/us/bill/69/hr/2858).][[Public, No. 528](/us/pl/69/528).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,United States Judges.Salaries fixed. That the following salaries shall be paid to the several judges hereinafter mentioned in lieu of the salaries now provided by law, namely: To the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United StatesSupreme Court. the sum of $20,500 per year, and to each of the Associate Justices thereof the sum of $20,000 per year.
To each of the circuit judges the sum of $12,500 per year.Circuit. To each of the district judges the sum of $10,000 per year.District. To the presiding judge of the United States Court of CustomsCourt of Customs Appeals. Appeals, and to each of the other judges thereof, the sum of $12,500 per year. To the Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals of the District ofCourt of Appeals. Columbia, and to each of the associate justices thereof, the sum of $12,500 per year. To the Chief Justice of the Court of Claims, and to each of theCourt of Claims. other judges thereof, the sum of $12,500 per year.
To the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the District ofSupreme Court, D. C. Columbia, $10,500 per year, and to each of the associate justices thereof the sum of $10,000 per year. 920 Board of General Appraisers.*Post*, p. 975.To each of the members of the Board of General Appraisers, which board functions as the customs trial court, the sum of $10,000 per year. Monthly payments.That all of said salaries shall be paid in monthly installments. Sec. 2. Effective date.This Act shall take effect on the first day of the first month next following its approval.
