CHAP. 474.— An Act For the relief of Sherman P. Browning. March 3, 1927. [[H. R. 3295](/us/bill/69/hr/3295).] [[Private, No. 516](/us/pvtl/69/516).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and. House, of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled*, Sherman P. Browning. Reimbursement to, for stolen war savings stamps. That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Sherman P. Browning, of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, the sum of $500, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, on account of the theft of one hundred United States war savings certificate stamps issued July 25, 1918, by the postmaster at Rochester, Butler County, Kentucky, to the said Sherman P.
Browningj which stamps were in unregistered form due to the lack of registration facilities at the said post office at the time of purchase and on various other occasions when the owner attempted to have the stamps registered.
