CHAP. 461.— An Act For the relief of the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company. March 3, 1927. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to March 3, 1927.[[H. R. 11914](/us/bill/69/hr/11914).][[Private, No. 503](/us/pvtl/69/503).]United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company.1838 redeem in favor of the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, United States registered bonds numbered 41325 and 41326, inscribed “ Charles Kellogg Rockwell,” and numbered 48018, inscribed “ Elkins, Morris and Co. ” in the denomination of $1,000 each, all of the 4 per centum loan of 1925, without presentation of the bonds, the said bonds having been lost, after having been assigned in blank by the registered payees, and the said registered payees having been reimbursed for the bonds by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company: *Provided*, That the said bonds shall not have been previously presented to the Treasury Department under such circumstances as would necessitate their redemption in favor of the person, firm, or bank presenting them: *And provided further*, That the said United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, shall first file in the Treasury Department a bond in the penal sum of double the amount of the principal of the said bonds, in such form and with such surety or sureties as may be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury, to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any loss on account of the bonds herein described.
