CHAP. 460.— An Act For the relief of the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland. March 3, 1927. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to redeem three 4½ per centum United States certificates of indebted-ness, series T.M. 1924, issued March 15, 1923, and matured March 15, 1924, serial numbers 21431, 21432, and 21433, of the denomination of $1,000 each, without interest, in favor of the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland, without presentation of the said certificates, which have been lost, stolen, or destroyed: *Provided*, That the said certificates of indebtedness shall not have been previously presented for payment: *Provided further*, That the said Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland shall first file in the Treasury Department a bond in the penal sum of double the amount of the principal of said certificates of indebtedness in such form and with such sureties as may be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury to indemnify and save harmless the United Stales from any loss on account of the lost, stolen, or destroyed certificates of indebtedness herein described.
