CHAP. 457.— An Act For the relief of the First National Bank, Savanna, Illinois. March 3, 1927. *Be it enacted by the Senate and Souse of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That (he Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to redeem, in favor of the First National Bank, Savanna, Illinois, United States Treasury note numbered 56663 in the denomination of $1,000, series C-1925, issued December 15, 1922, matured June 15, 1925, with interest from the date of issue to the date of maturity, at the rate of 4½ per centum per annum, without presentation of said note, the said note, together with coupons due June 15, 1923, to June 15, 1925, inclusive, attached, having been lost, stolen, or destroyed: *Provided*, That the said note shall not have been previously presented and paid, and that payment shall not be made hereunder for any coupons which shall have been previously presented and paid: *And provided further*, That the said First National Bank, Savanna, Illinois, shall first file in the Treasury Department a bond in the penal sum of double the amount of the principal of the said note and the unpaid interest which had accrued thereon when the principal became due and payable, in such form and with such surety or sureties as may be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury, with condition to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any loss on account of the Treasury note or the coupons thereof hereinbefore described.
