CHAP. 454.— An Act For the relief of S. K. Truby. March 3, 1927. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of the Treasury be. and he is hereby, authorized and directed to redeem one United States Treasury certificate of indebtedness, payable to bearer, numbered 8693, in the denomination of $500, series TS-1921, dated September 15, 1920, and matured September 15, 1921, with interest at the rate of 6 per centum per annum from September 15, 1920, to September 15, 1921, in favor of S.
K. Truby, Maple Park, Illinois, without presentation of the said certificate, the certificate of indebtedness having been lost, stolen, or destroyed: *Provided*, That the said certificate of indebtedness shall not have been previously presented for payment and that no payment shall be made hereunder for any coupons which shall have been previously presented and paid: *Provided further,* That the said S. K. Truby shall first file in the Treasury Department a bond in the penal sum of double the amount of the principal of said Treasury certificate of indebtedness, and the interest payable thereon, in such form and with such surety or sureties as may be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any loss on account of the lost, stolen, or destroyed certificate of indebtedness herein described.
