CHAP. 374.— An Act For the relief of George Turner. May 22, 1926.[[H. R. 5627](/us/bill/69/hr/5627).][[Private, No. 69](/us/pvtl/69/69).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the sum ofGeorge Turner.Retention allowed of salary July-October, 1942, as counsel before Boundary Waters Commission. money heretofore paid by the United States to George Turner, of Spokane, Washington, as salary for his services as counsel for the United States before the International Joint Commission on Boundary Waters for the months of July, August, September, and October, 1922, amounting to the total sum of $1,666.64, may be retained by the said George Turner as legal counsel for the said services, disregarding any question which may have been raised as to the validity of said payments, and all disbursing and accounting officers of the Government are hereby released from any liability or alleged liability on account of said payments.
Sec. 2. That there is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out ofAmount authorized for services, etc., November, 1922. any funds in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $699.93, to be paid to the said George Turner by the proper disbursing*Ante*, p. 864. officers of the Government as compensation to him for his services as counsel of the said International Joint Commission for the month of November, 1922, and his expenses necessarily incurred in going from Spokane, Washington, to the city of Washington, and returning to Spokane upon the duties imposed upon him as counsel of the said commission in accordance with the account of the said expenses filed with the Department of State by the said George Turner.
