CHAP. 339.— An Act Granting certain public lands to the city of Altus, Oklahoma, for reservoir and incidental purposes.May 19, 1926.[[H. R. 9559](/us/bill/69/hr/9559).][[Public, No. 252](/us/pl/69/252).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Public lands.Granted to Altus, Okla., for reservoir, etc., purposes. That lot 12, section 4, lot 2, section 9, lot 8, section 10. and lot 6, section 28, township 5 north, range 20 west, Indian Meridian, Oklahoma, containing approximately sixty and seventy-six one-hundredths acres, be, and the same are hereby, granted to the city of Altus, Oklahoma, for reservoir and incidental purposes, upon condition that the city shall make payment for the land at the rate of $1.25 per acre within two *Provisos*.Mineral deposits reserved.years after the approval of this Act: *Provided*, That there shall be reserved to the United States all oil, coal, or other mineral deposits found at any time in the land and the right to prospect for, mine, and remove the same under such rules and regulations as the Grant subject to existing claims, etc.Secretary of the Interior may prescribe: *Provided further*, That the giant herein is made subject to any valid existing claim or easements 567and that the lands hereby granted shall be used by the city of Altus, Oklahoma, only for reservoir or incidental purposes, and if the landsReversion for nonuses. or any part thereof shall be abandoned for such use said lands or such part shall revert to the United States, and the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized and empowered to declare such a forfeiture of the grant and to restore such premises to the public domain if at any time he shall determine that the city has for more than one year abandoned the land for the uses herein indicated, and such order of the Secretary shall be final and conclusive and thereupon and thereby said premises shall be restored to the public domain and freed from the operation of this grant.
