CHAP. 324.— An Act Granting public lands to the city of Golden, Colorado, to secure a supply of water for municipal and domestic purposes.March 3, 1927.[[H. R. 16017](/us/bill/69/hr/16017).][[Public, No. 727](/us/pl/69/727).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Public lands.Granted Golden, Colo., for water supply. That for the purpose of securing an adequate supply of water for domestic and municipal purposes for the use of the city of Golden, Colorado, there is hereby granted to the said city the lands described as follows:
In Clear Creek County, Colorado, township 4 south, rangeDescription. 72 west of the sixth principal meridian; southeast quarter of the northeast quarter and east half of southeast quarter of section 8, and the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter and southwest quarter of section 9, and the northeast quarter of northeast quarter of section 18; total, three hundred and sixty acres, more or less, onPayment. condition that the said city shall make payment for such lands at the rate of $1.25 per acre to the receiver of the United States Land Office of Denver, Colorado, within one year after approval of this Act: *Provided*, That there shall be reserved to the United StatesExisting rights not affected. all oil, coal, or other mineral deposits found at any time in the lands, and the right to prospect for, mine, and remove the same: *Provided further*, That the grant herein made is subject to anyForfeiture for non-user. valid existing rights or easements on said lands, and that upon failure of the city to make use of the lands herein granted, in accordance with the purpose of this Act, all rights hereunder shall*Provisos*.Mineral deposits reserved. cease and such lands revert to the United States.
