CHAP. 306.— An Act To amend section 87 of the Judicial Code.May 17, 1926.[[H. R. 9829](/us/bill/69/hr/9829).][[Public, No. 234](/us/pl/69/234).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,United States courts.Vol. 42, p. 503, amended. That section 87 of the Judicial Code, as amended, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: " “ Sec. 87. That the State of Massachusetts shall constitute oneMassachusetts Judicial district. judicial district, to be known as the District of Massachusetts.
“ Terms of the district court shall be held at Boston on the thirdTerms of court. Tuesday in March, the fourth Tuesday in June, the second Tuesday in September, and the first Tuesday in December; at Springfield on the second Tuesday in May and December; at New Bedford on the first Tuesday in August; and at Worcester on the first Tuesday in March and the third Tuesday in September: *Provided*, That suitable*Provisos*.Rooms at Springfield, New Bedford, and Worcester. rooms and accommodations for holding court at Springfield, New Bedford, and Worcester shall be furnished free of expense to the United States: *And provided further*, That all writs, precepts, andProcesses, etc., returnable at Boston. processes shall be returnable to the terms at Boston, and all court papers shall be kept in the clerk’s office at Boston, unless otherwise specially ordered by the court, and the terms at Boston shall not be terminated or affected by the terms at Springfield, New Bedford, or Worcester.
“The marshal and the clerk for said district shall each appointDeputy marshal and clerk at Springfield. at least one deputy to reside in Springfield and to maintain an office at that place.”" Approved, May 17, 1926.
