CHAP. 292.— An Act To extend the time for commencing and completing the construction of a bridge across Detroit River within or near the city limits of Detroit, Michigan.May 13, 1926.[[H. R. 8771](/us/bill/69/hr/8771).][[Public, No. 220](/us/pl/69/220).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Detroit River.Time extended for bridging at Detroit, Mich., by American Transit Company. That the times for commencing and completing the construction of the bridge authorized by Act of Congress approved March 4, 1921, to be built by the American Transit Company, its successors and assigns, across Detroit River, within or near the city limits of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, which have heretofore been extended by Acts of Congress approved April 17, 1924, and March 3, 1925, are hereby further extended one year and five years, respectively, from the date of approval hereof.
Sec. 2. That the said American Transit Company, its successorsSworn statement of costs, etc., to be submitted after completion. or assigns, shall within ninety days after the completion of the bridge constructed under the authority of this Act file with the Secretary of War an itemized statement under oath showing the actual original cost of such bridge and its approaches and appurtenances, which statement shall include any expenditures actually made for engineering and legal services; and any fees, discounts, and other expenditures actually incurred in connection with the financing thereof.
Such itemized statement of cost shall be investigatedInvestigation by Secretary of War. by the Secretary of War at any time within three years after the completion of such bridge, and for that purpose the said American Transit Company, its successors or assigns, in such manner as may be deemed proper, shall make available and accessible all records connected with the construction and financing of such bridge, and the findings of the Secretary of War as to the actual cost of suchFindings to be a part of the Department records. bridge shall be made a part of the records of the War Department.
Sec. 3. The right to sell, assign, transfer, and mortgage all theRight to sell, etc., conferred. rights, powers, and privileges conferred by this Act is hereby granted to the said American Transit Company, its successors or assigns, and any corporation to which Such rights, powers, and privileges may be sold, assigned, or transferred, or which 'shall acquire the same by mortgage foreclosure or otherwise, is hereby authorized and empowered to exercise the same as fully as though conferred herein directly upon such corporation.
Sec. 4. That the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is herebyAmendment. expressly reserved. Approved, May 13, 1926.
