CHAP. 105.— An Act To increase the pensions of certain maimed veterans who have lost limbs or have been totally disabled in the same, in line of duty, in the military or naval service of the United States; and to amend section 4788 of the Revised Statutes of the United States by increasing the rates therein for artificial limbs.February 11, 1927.[[H. That from and after the approval of this Act all persons now on the pension roll, and all persons hereafter granted a pension, who while in the military or naval service of the United States, and in line of duty, shallVol. 41, p. 982, amended. have lost one hand or one foot, or have been totally disabled in the same, shall receive a pension at the rate of $80 per month; that all persons who in like manner shall have lost an arm at or at any point above the elbow, or a leg at or at any point above the knee, or have been totally disabled in the same, shall receive a pension at the rate of $90 per month. 1086 Sec. 2.
Artificial limbs.Money commutation for, increased.[R. S., sec. 4788, p. 930](/us/rs/s4788/p930), increased.That section 4788 of the Revised Statutes of the United States is hereby amended to read as follows: Every person entitled to the benefits of the preceding section may, if he so elects, receive, instead of such limb or apparatus, the money value thereof at the following rates, namely: For artificial legs, $125; for arms, $100; for feet, $100; for apparatus for resection, $100.
