CHAP. 453.— An Act Granting the consent of Congress to R. L. Gaster, his successors and assigns, to construct a bridge across the White River. March 3, 1925.[[S. 4306](/us/bill/68/s/4306).][[Public, No. 571](/us/pl/68/571).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representati/ves of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * That the consent White River.R. L. Gaster may bridge, near Augusta, Ark.of Congress is hereby granted to R. L. Gaster and his successors and assigns, to construct, maintain and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across the White River at a point suitable to the interests of navigation at or near the town of Augusta, in the county of Wood-ruff, in the State of Arkansas, in accordance with the provisions of Construction.Vol. 34, p. 84.the Act entitled “An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters,” approved March 23, 1906.
Sec. 2. The State of Arkansas, or any political subdivision or division Arkansas may acquire to operate as a free bridge.thereof, within or adjoining which said bridge is located, may at any time, by agreement or by condemnation in accordance with the laws of said State, acquire all right, title, and interest in said bridge and the approaches thereto constructed under authority of this Act, for the purpose of maintaining and operating such bridge as a free bridge, by the payment to the owners of the reasonable value thereof Payment for.not to exceed in any event the construction cost thereof: *Provided*, *Proviso*.Tolls allowed for five years.That the said State or political subdivision or division thereof may operate such bridge as a toll bridge not to exceed five years from date of acquisition thereof.
Sec. 3. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expresslyAmendment reserved. Approved, March 3, 1925.
