CHAP. 350.— An Act Granting the consent of Congress to the Kanawha Falls Bridge Company, Incorporated, to construct a bridge across the Kanawha River at Kanawha Falls, Fayette County, West Virginia. R. 11255](/us/bill/68/hr/11255).][[Public, No. 489](/us/pl/68/489).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * That the consent Kanawha River.Kanawha Falls Bridge Company may bridge, Glen Ferris, W.
Va.of Congress is hereby granted to the Kanawha Falls Bridge Company, Incorporated, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of West Virginia, and its successors and assigns, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across the Kanawha River at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near the falls of said river, close to the town of Glen Ferris, in the County of Fayette, in the State of West Virginia, Construction.Vol. 34, p. 84.in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled “An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters,” approved March 23, 1906.
Sec. 2. That the State of West Virginia, or any political subdivision West Virginia, etc., may acquire and operate as a free bridge.or divisions thereof, within or adjoining which said bridge is located, may at any time, by agreement or by condemnation in accordance with the laws of said State, acquire all right, title, and interest in said bridge and the approaches thereto constructed under authority of this Act, for the purpose of maintaining and operating such bridge as a free bridge by the payment to the owners of the reasonable value thereof, not to exceed in any event the construction cost thereof: *Provided*, That the said State or political *Proviso*.Toll allowed for five years.subdivision or division thereof may operate such bridge as a toll bridge not to exceed five years from date of acquisition thereof.
Sec. 3. The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby Amendment.expressly reserved. Approved, February 26, 1925.
