CHAP. 334.— An Act Granting certain public lands to the city of Phoenix, Arizona, for municipal, park, and other purposes June 7, 1924.[[S. 3693](/us/bill/68/s/3693).][[Public, No. 256](/us/68/pl/256).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * ThatPublic landsGranted Phoenix Ariz., for municipal, etc., purposes.Description. the south half of the north half and all the south half of section 13, the southwest quarter, the west half of the southeast quarter, the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter, section 14, the southeast quarter, section 21, the east half of the northwest quarter, the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter, the east half of the northeast quarter, the southwest quarter of the north-644east quarter, and all of south half, section 22, all of sections 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, township 1 south, range 2 east, Gila and Salt River meridian.
Arizona. The south half, section 1, the south half, section 2, the south half, section 7, the south half, section 8, the south half, section 9, the south half, the northeast quarter, section 10, all of sections 11, 12, northwest quarter section 13, all of sections 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 30, township 1 south, range 3 east, Gila and Salt River meridian. Arizona. The west half of the southwest quarter, section 5, the south half and the south half of the northwest quarter, section 6, township 1 south, range 4 east, Gila and Salt River meridian, Arizona, be, and the same are hereby, granted to the city of Phoenix, Arizona, for municipal, park, recreation, Payment required.playground, or public convenience purposes, upon the condition that the city shall make payment for such land at the rate of $1.25 per acre to the receiver of the United States land office, Phoenix, Arizona, within six months after the approval of this *Provisos*.Mineral deposits reserved.Act: *Provided*, That there shall be reserved to the United States all oil, coal, or other mineral deposits found at any time in the land, and the right to prospect for, mine, and remove the same: *Provided further*, Existing rights impaired.That the grant herein is made subject to any valid existing claim or easements, and that the lands hereby granted shall be used by the city of Phoenix, Arizona, only for the purposes Reversion for non-user.herein indicated, and if the said land, or any part thereof, shall be abandoned for such use, said land or such part shall revert to the United States; and the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized and empowered to declare such a forfeiture of the grant and to restore said premises to the public domain, if at any time he shall determine that the city has, for more than one year, abandoned the land for the uses herein indicated, and such order of the Secretary shall be final and conclusive, and thereupon and thereby said premises shall be restored to the public domain and freed from the operation of this grant.
