CHAP. 283.— An Act For the relief of Gerard E. Bess. June 6, 1924.[[H. R. 905](/us/bill/68/hr/905).][[Private, No. 48](/us/pvtl/68/48).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in, Congress assembled*, That the Secretary Gerard E. Bess.Payment to for personal injuries.of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Gerard E. Bess, the sum of $540 in full settlement against the Government, as compensation for injuries sustained while in charge and under the direction of a sergeant of the United States Army and a passenger on a Government truck en route from Fort Bragg to Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 23, 1922.
