CHAP. 11.— An Act Granting the consent of Congress to the construction of a bridge across the Rio Grande. February 1, 1924.[[H. R. 5196](/us/bill/68/hr/5196).][[Public, No. 7](/us/pl/68/7).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Rio Grande.El Paso Electric Railway Company and El Paso and Juarez Traction Company may bridge, El Paso, Tex. That the consent of Congress is hereby granted to the El Paso Electric Railway Company and the El Paso and Juarez Traction Company, corporations organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Texas, and their successors and assigns, to construct, maintain, and operate an electric street railway, vehicular, and foot bridge, and approaches thereto, across the Rio Grande at a point suitable to the interests of navigation at or near the point where South Stanton Street, in said city of El Paso, crosses the Rio Grande, in the county of El Paso, State of Texas (to replace the wooden bridge now in use Vol. 22, p. 179.at or near the aforesaid location, operated by said corporations under the authority of an Act of Congress passed and approved July Construction.Vol. 34, p. 84.28, 1882), in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled “An Act. to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters,” Consent of Mexico required.approved March 23, 1906, such construction to be made only with the consent and approval of the Republic of Mexico.
Sec. 2. Amendment. That the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. Approved, February 1, 1924.
