CHAP. 53.— Joint Resolution Providing a site upon public grounds in the city of Washington, District of Columbia, for the erection of a statue of Dante. February 14, 1922.[[S. J. Res., No. 39](/us/67/pubres/39).] Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Stales of America in Congress assembled, Statue of Dante.Erection of, in District of Columbia, authorized.Locations excluded. That the Chief of Engineers, United States Army, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to grant permission for the erection on public grounds of the United States in the city of Washington, District of Columbia, other than those of the Capitol, the Library of Congress, Potomac Park, and the *Proviso*.Approval of design and site.No expense.White House, a statue of Dante: *Provided*, That the site chosen and the design of the monument shall be approved by the National Commission of Fine Arts and that the United States shall be put to no expense in or by the erection of the said monument.
