CHAP. 350.— An Act To repeal sections 2453 and 2454, and to amend sections 2450, 2451, and 2456, Revised Statutes of the United States. September 20, 1922.[[H. R. 10443](/us/bill/67/hr/10443).][[Public, No. 316](/us/pl/67/316).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the UnitedStates of America in Congress assembled*, That sections 2453 and 2454, Public lands.Classification of suspended entries repealed.[R. S., secs. 2453, 2454, p. 449, repealed](/us/rs/s2453/2454/p2449).Revised Statutes of the United States, be repealed and sections 2450, 2451, and 2456 be amended to read as follows:
" “Sec. 2450. That the Commissioner of the General Land Office is Issue of patents upon suspended entries, etc.[R. S., sec. 2450, p. 449, amended](/us/rs/s2450/p449).authorized to decide upon principles of equity and justice, as recognized in courts of equity, and in accordance with regulations to be approved by the Secretary of the Interior, consistently with such principles, all cases of suspended entries of public lands and of suspended preemption land claims, and to adjudge in what cases patents shall issue upon the same. 858 “Sec. 2451.
Approval to divest United States title.[R. S., sec. 2451, p. 449, amended](/us/rs/s2451/p449). That every such adjudication shall be approved by theSecretary of the Interior and shall operate only to divest the United States of the title to the land embraced thereby, without prejudice to the rights of conflicting claimants. “Sec. 2456. Issue of new patents on surrender of outstanding.[R. S., sec. 2456, p. 449, amended](/us/rs/s2456/p449). That where patents have been already issued on entries which are approved by the Secretary of the Interior, the Commissioner of the General Land Office, upon the canceling of the outstanding patent, is authorized to issue a new patent, on such approval, toto the person who made the entry, his heirs or assigns.
