CHAP. 349.— An Act For the protection of timber owned by the United States from fire, disease, or the ravages of beetles or other insects. September 20, 1922.[[H. R. 9495](/us/bill/67/hr/9495).][[Public, No. 315](/us/pl/67/315).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the Secretary of the Timber.Protection of, on Government lands, from fire, insects, etc., authorized.Interior is hereby authorized to protect and preserve, from fire, disease, or the ravages of beetles, or other insects, timber owned by the United States upon the public lands, national parks, national monuments, Indian reservations, or other lands under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Interior owned by the United States, either directly or in cooperation with other departments of the Federal Government, with States, or with owners of timber; and appropriations Appropriations authorized for.are hereby authorized to be made for such purposes.
