CHAP. 315.— An Act To amend sections 34 and 40 of the organic act of the Territory of Hawaii. September 15, 1922. [[H. R. 11590](/us/bill/67/hr/11590).] [[Public, No. 303](/us/pl/67/303).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Hawaiian Organic Act. “Male” deleted from office qualifications. That sections 34 and 40 of the organic act of the Territory of Hawaii, being an Act entitled “An Act to provide a government for the Territory of Hawaii,” approved April 30, 1900, be amended by deleting therefrom the word “male,” so that said sections when amended shall read as follows:
" “Sec. 34. Qualifications of senators.Vol. 31, p. 147, amended. That in order to be eligible to election as a senator a person shall— “Be a citizen of the United States; “Have attained the age of thirty years; “Have resided in the Hawaiian Islands not less than three years and be qualified to vote for senators in the district from which he or she is elected.” “Sec. 40. Qualifications of representatives.Vol. 31, p. 148, amended. That in order to be eligible to be a member of the house of representatives the person shall, at the time of election— “Have attained the age of twenty-five years;
“Be a citizen of the United States; “Have resided in the Hawaiian Islands not less than three years and shall be qualified to vote for representatives in the district from which he or she is elected.” " Approved, September 15, 1922.
