CHAP. 177.— An Act To authorize the sale of the Montreal River Lighthouse Reservation, Michigan, to the Gogebic County Board of the American Legion, Bessemer, Michigan. March 2, 1923.[[H. R. 13032](/us/bill/67/hr/13032).][[Public, No. 464](/us/bill/67/pl/464).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the SecretaryMontreal River Lighthouse, Mich.Sale to American Legion, Bessemer. of Commerce, for and on behalf of the United States, is hereby authorized and directed, in his discretion, to sell and convey to the Gogebic County Board of the American Legion, Bessemer, Michigan for the sum of $1, that certain piece or parcel of land knownDescription. as the Montreal River Lighthouse Reservation, Michigan, with all the rights, easements, and appurtenances thereto belonging, which is all that parcel of land situate at the mouth of the Montreal River in the county of Gogebic, State of Michigan, comprising lot two, section ten, township forty-eight north, range forty-nine west, and containing forty and eighty-five one-hundredths acres more or less, the same being no longer required for lighthouse purposes: *Provided,* *Provisos.*Use for park and invalid home.That said Gogebic County Board of the American Legion shall use this site for park purposes and as a home for invalid members of the American Legion: *Provided further,* That the deed of conveyanceReversion for non-user to be expressed in deed. shall be upon the express condition that if at any time the Secretary of Commerce shall determine that the site hereby authorized to be conveyed is not being maintained by the said Gogebic County Board of the American Legion as a site for park purposes and as a home for invalid members of the American Legion, and shall file and cause to be recorded a certificate to that effect in the office of the official custodian of the records pertaining to real estate in the county of Michigan, in which said lands are located, then the estate thereby conveyed shall immediately terminate and revert to the United States, which may thereupon reenter into and upon said premises as of its first and former estate.
Sec. 2. That the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is herebyAmendment, etc. expressly reserved. Approved, March 2, 1923.
