CHAP. 86.— An Act To improve the administration of the postal service in the Territory of Hawaii, in Porto Rico and the Virgin Islands. October 28, 1919. [[H. R. 7972](/us/bill/66/hr/7972).] [[Public, No. 67](/us/pl/66/67).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Postmaster General Postal Service.Branch offices, etc., directed in Hawaii, Porto Rico, and Virgin Islands.is hereby directed to establish in the Islands of Hawaii, in Porto Rico and the Virgin Islands under appropriate regulations to be prescribed by him, such branch offices, nonaccounting offices, or stations of Honolulu, San Juan and Charlotte Amalie, respectively, as in his judgment may be necessary to improve the service and as may be *Proviso.*Under existing post offices.required for the convenience of the public: *Provided, however,* That such branches, nonaccounting offices, and stations shall be conducted under the name of the existing post offices affected so as to maintain the identity of the offices concerned. *Provided,* That the Postmaster General be authorized to fix the Honolulu, Hawaii.Salary of postmastersalary of the postmaster at Honolulu at not to exceed $4,000 per annum.
