CHAP. 49.— Joint Resolution To suspend the requirements of annual assessment work on certain mining claims during the year 1919. August 15, 1919. [[H. J. Res. 150](/us/bill/66/hjres/150).] [[Pub. Res., No. 10](/us/bill/66/pubres/10).] *Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the provision of section Public lands.Mining claims assessments suspended for 1919.[R. S., sec. 2324, p. 426](/us/rs/s2324/p426).*Post,* p. 354.2324 of the Revised Statutes of the United States which requires on each mining claim located, and until a patent has been issued therefor, not less than $100 worth of labor to be performed or improvements aggregating such amount to be made during each year, be, and the same is hereby, suspended during the calendar year 1919: *Provided,* *Provisos.*Limitation.That no such suspension shall be granted to any one claimant for more than five claims: *Provided,* That every claimant of any such Notice of retention of claim to be filed.mining claim in order to obtain the benefits of this resolution shall file 280or cause to be filed in the office where the location notice or certificate is recorded, on or before December 31, 1919, a notice of his desire to .hold said mining claim under this resolution.
Rights of owners in armed service not affected.Vol. 40, p. 243. Sec. 2. That this resolution shall not be construed to alter, modify, amend, or repeal the public resolution entitled “Joint resolution to relieve the owners of mining claims who have been mustered into the military or naval service or the United States as officers or enlisted men from performing assessment work during the term of such service,” approved July 17, 1917. Approved, August 15, 1919.
