CHAP. 256.— An Act Authorizing the Superintendent of the Coast and Geodetic Survey, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Commerce, to consider, ascertain, adjust, and determine claims for damages occasioned by acts for which said survey is responsible in certain cases. June 5, 1920. [[S. 3270](/us/bill/66/s/3270).] [[Public, No. 267](/us/pl/66/267).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House cf Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Coast and Geodetic Survey.Claims for damages by acts of, to be adjusted by Superintendent.
That the Superintendent of the Coast and Geodetic Survey, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Commerce, is hereby authorized to consider, ascertain, adjust, and determine all claims for damages, where the amount of the claim does not exceed $500, hereafter occasioned by acts for which theReport to Congress. Coast and Geodetic Survey shall be found to be responsible, and report the amounts so ascertained and determined to be due the claimants to Congress at each session thereof through the Treasury Department for payment as legal claims out of appropriations that may be made by Congress therefor.
