April 2, 1918.[[S. 3404](/us/bill/65/s/3404).][[Public, No. 116](/us/pl/65/116).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the President is hereby Navy and Marine Corps.Officers to be dropped from the rolls if absent without leave, etc.authorized to drop from the rolls of the Navy or Marine Corps any officer thereof who is absent from duty without leave for a period of three months or more, or who, having been found guilty by the civil authorities of any offense, is finally sentenced to confinement in a *Proviso*.Reappointment forbidden.State or Federal penitentiary: *Provided*, That no officer so dropped shall be eligible for reappointment.
