Chap. XCV.— An Act authorizing the establishment of a navy yard and depot, on the coast of Florida, in the Gulf of Mexico. March 3, 1825. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, * The President of the United States authorized to select a site for a navy yard and depot, on the coast of Florida. That the President of the United States be, and he is hereby, authorized to select and purchase a site for a navy yard and depot, on the coast of Florida, in the gulf of Mexico, and to erect such buildings, and make such improvements thereon as he may judge necessary for the accommodation and supply of the United States’ vessels of war in that quarter; and that the sum of one hundred thousand dollars be appropriated for effecting that object, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
