Chap. XCIX.— An Act to authorize the Postmaster General to erect an additional building, and employ five additional clerks. May 24, 1828. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, * An additional building to be erected, and five clerks to be appointed. That the Postmaster General be authorized to have erected an additional building for the use of the department of the general post-office, and of the patent office; and that he be also authorized to employ five additional clerks, with a salary of one thousand dollars each.
Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted, *That the sum of twelve thousandAppropriation for the erection of the building, &c. dollars be appropriated to defray the cost of erecting the aforesaid building, and the sum of five thousand dollars to pay the salaries of the aforesaid clerks; to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, May 24, 1828.
