Chap. LXXVI.— An Act authorizing the importation of statues of George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, free of duty. May 20, 1826. [Obsolete.] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, * Statue of Washington, and of Alexander Hamilton, authorized to be imported free of duty. That the Washington Monument Association in Massachusetts be, and are hereby, authorized to import into the United States, from the city of London, a statue of Washington, free of duty; and that the Merchant’s Exchange Company, of the city of New York, be, and they are hereby, authorized to import into the United States, for the use of the New Exchange Building, in the city of New York, a statue of Alexander Hamilton, free of duty.
