Chap. CLXVIII.— An Act authorizing the governors of the several states to transmit, by mail, certain books and documents.June 30, 1834. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United State papers, &c. to be free of postage. States of America, in Congress assembled,* That it shall be lawful for the 741TWENTY-THIRD CONGRESS. Sess. I. Ch. 170. 1834. governors of the several states, to transmit by mail, free of postage, all laws and reports, whether bound or unbound, and all records and documents of their respective states, which may be directed by the legislatures of the several states to be transmitted to the executives of other states; and the governor of the state transmitting the same shall, in addition Character of books, &c. to be endorsed. to his frank, endorse the kind of book or document enclosed, and direct the same to the governor of the state to which the same may be sent.
