CHAP. 65.— An Act For the relief of the owners of the steamship Esparta. February 14, 1917.[[S. 3681](/us/bill/64/s/3681).][[Private, No. 178](/us/pl/64/178).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, “Esparta,” steamship. Claim of owners of, may be brought in district court. That the claim of the owners of the British steamship Esparta against the United States for damages sustained by them in and on account of the collision between their said vessel and the United States lighthouse tender Magnolia on October twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred and five, in the Passes of the Mississippi River, below New Orleans,- be referred to the Jurisdiction, etc.
District Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Louisiana, with jurisdiction and authority to determine the liability of the United States therefor, and, if found liable, to render judgment against the United States for any damages sustained by the owners of said steamship Esparta.
