CHAP. 28.— JOINT RESOLUTION Authorizing the Secretary of War to loan, issue, or use quartermaster’s and medical supplies for the relief of destitute persons in the districts overflowed by the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Res., No. 9](/us/bill/64/pubres/9).] *Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary of War Mississippi River floods.
Loan of tents, etc., for relief of sufferers from.be, and he is hereby, authorized, in his discretion, to loan, issue, or use such tents, provisions, and supplies pertaining to the Quartermaster’s and Medical Departments of the Army from any stores now on hand, as he may deem necessary for the temporary relief of destitute persons in need of the same in the districts overflowed by the recent floods of the Mississippi River and its tributaries under such regulations for the care and return of articles not consumed in the use as he may deem necessary.
