CHAP. 185.— An Act To authorize the Secretary of the Treasury, in his discretion, to transfer and convey to the commissioners of Lincoln Park, of Chicago, Illinois, the riparian rights of the United States, as the owner of land fronting on Lake Michigan and occupied as the site of the United States marine hospital in Chicago, Illinois. March 4, 1917.[[S. 7905](/us/bill/64/s/7905).][[Public, No. 396](/us/pl/64/396).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * Chicago, Ill.Riparian rights on Lake Michigan granted the commissioners of Lincoln Park.
That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized, in his discretion, to transfer and convey to the commissioners of Lincoln Park, of Chicago, Illinois, the riparian rights of the United States, as the owner of land fronting on Lake Michigan and occupied as the site of the United StatesConditions. marine hospital in Chicago, Illinois, upon the condition that the said rights and any lands which may be added to the present water front of said marine hospital site shall be used for no other purpose than that authorized in the statute of the State of Illinois entitled “An Act to enable the park commissioners having control of any park bordering upon public waters in this State to enlarge the same from time to time and granting submerged lands for the purpose of such enlargements, and to defray the cost thereof,” approved June fifteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-five, and upon such other terms and conditions as he may impose in order to permit the proposed extension of Lincoln Park across the water front of said site;Legal proceedings authorized. and he is further authorized and empowered, in his discretion, in the name of the United States of America, to undertake or conform to any proceedings provided for under the statutes of the State of Illinois enacted for the purpose of enabling park commissioners to enlarge parks by reclaiming submerged lands under the waters of Lake Michigan and for the establishment and defining of the boundary line between the lands of shore owners and the park lands of such park commissioners: *Provided, *That*Proviso*.Reversion for non-use. in the event the said lands are not used for the purposes specified in this Act the same shall revert to the Government of the United States.
