CHAP. 183.— AN ACT For the enlargement of the post-office building in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. March 4, 1917.[[S. 6601](/us/bill/64/s/6601).][[Public, No. 394](/us/pl/64/394).] *Be it enacted by the Senate, and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary of the Pittsburgh, Pa. Enlargement of post-office building.Treasury be, and ho is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the present old post-office building at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to been larged, extended, remodeled, and improved for the better accommodation of the post-office and other governmental offices, at a cost Limit of cost.not exceeding 850,000, including all changes in, extension of, or additions and repairs to the mechanical equipment which may become necessary by reason of, or incident to, such enlargement, extension, remodeling, or repairs of said building, or which it may be found expedient to make to such mechanical equipment because of such enlargement, extension, remodeling, or repair of said building; and the annual appropriations for the general maintenance of public buildings under the control of the Treasury Department shall be construed to be available for all other repairs to and equipment of said building, grounds, approaches, and mechanical equipment of such building as extended.
And the Secretary of the Treasury is further authorized, Open space requirement waived.in his discretion, to disregard the provisions requiring forty feet open space for fire protection. Approved, March 4, 1917.
