CHAP. 167.— AN ACT To authorize the Legislature of Alaska to establish and maintain schools, and for other purposes. March 3, 1917.[[S. 8317](/us/bill/64/s/8317).][[Public, No. 385](/us/pl/64/385).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Legislature of Alaska. Schools for civilized children authorized.Alaska is hereby empowered to establish and maintain schools for white and colored children and children of mixed blood who lead a civilized life in said Territory and to make appropriations of Territorial funds for that purpose; and all laws or parts of laws in conflict with this Act are to that extent repealed.
