CHAP. 13.— AN ACT To authorize the construction of bridges across the Fox River at Aurora, Illinois. January 18, 1916.[[S. 1230](/us/bill/64/s/1230).][[Public, No. 8](/us/pl/64/8).] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Chicago, Burlington Fox River. Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad Company may bridge, at Aurora, Ill.and Quincy Railroad Company, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Illinois, its successors and assigns, be, and is hereby, authorized to construct, maintain, and operate two bridges across the Fox River, in the city of Aurora, State of Illinois, Construction.
Vol. 34, p. 84.in accordance with the Act of Congress entitled “An Act to regulate the construction of bridges across navigable waters,” approved March twenty-third, nineteen hundred and six, as follows:
(1)A bridge over the east branch or channel of the Fox River in Location.the city of Aurora, State of Illinois, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, about four hundred feet below the existing North Avenue Bridge over the Fox River.
(2)A bridge over the west branch or channel of the Fox River at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, about sixteen hundred feet below the North Avenue Bridge, in the city of Aurora, State of Illinois. 6 Approval of prior work. Sec. 2. And it is further authorized that the work which has already been done upon these bridges, which may be approved by the Chief of Engineers and the Secretary of War, may be used as a part of the proposed bridges. Amendment. Sec. 3. That the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. Approved, January 18, 1916.
